i know, i know. It's halfway through the week of stressful exams and i am down here blogging. don't complain. im trying to keep my blog updated.
I have been thinking a lot recently, ya know - How old-fashioned can a person get?
Tell me. If you are an adult, will you still read a book like Harry Potter or Eragon when it is initially targeted at young audience? I mean, will you even read a supposedly 'childish' book which is a bestseller? Will you throw a contemptous look at a guy wearing pink? Will you look down on adults who still watch cartoon and collect toys? Aren't they just trying to be who they are and not wear a mask?
It is just so unfair. Discrimination is ubiquitous. There are people who try to be superior to people of other races. There also people who set rigid rules which every adult has to follow - to leave their buring passions for childhood dreams and interests behind and act like an adult accepted by the society. So much for an open society.
Imagine a world where evryone wears more or less the same clothes. No variety, only rules and regulations. Put aside the impossibility and think again. The world is more or less following a set of absurd rules. Everyone has to put on a mask and act like everyone else. Any 'unique' style is not accepted readily by the rest of the society. Parents shake their heads when they see a teenager wearing skimpy clothes. Middle-aged people wearing clothes of the 1980s earn themselves incredulous stares from the younger population. I mean, can't everyone just follow their own style of fashion? Won't it be better to see a variety of styles(like a fashion show along Orchard Road)?
Seemingly, the only innocent race in this world is the children. They could not care less about what you wear, how you behave, or even what race you are. As long as you keep them happy, who cares if there is a huge conflict about the acceptable way one should behave? or so she says
