Stairway to heaven in a Maritime Museum???
The next place is the best thing ever! the Fremantle Prison! it's actually the first prison to be built in Australia when the convicts from Great Britain were shipped here. There were quite a few tours but I only went to one. Tours include the 'torchlight tour'(a night tour where they tell ghost stories),'tunnel tour'(sit in a small canoe, where protective gear and navigate yourself though the tunnels beneath the prison),'The Great Escape'(where the guides tell stories of how famous Joe managed to escape the supposedly escape-proof cell and other escape plans). The last one is 'Doing Time' your where the guide took me around the prison and explain life in there. It's really not a boring tour about history. the guide is a funny man and it's a really good tour if you have never been inside a century-old prison which holds many secrets.

Day 3: At King's Parkyup. me and my stupid idea. i wanted to go for the tour at the park at midday! the temperature was like 30++ degrees. but it was really worth it as the park has a viewing gallery of the entire Perth city.
i can't put the video up due to some blogspot website maintenance prob. this is the best pix so far. the lake on the right end of the pix is where the cockatoos can be found eating worms.
Day 4: Seagulls + wine + animals=?
The weather is starting to be more of Autumn climate. I used to think seagulls can only be found in a beach. How wrong I was! In perth, you can find it everywhere - the lake, the city,... Anyway, it was practically a sea of birds and that includes fruit-eating cockatoos. They are so cute but they don't want to eat the food i brought for them. I also saw a heron sunbathing nearby while feeding the seagulls.

Cockatoos!!! (and seagulls)
I drank Singapore sling (originated from a 5-star singapore hotel) on the plane and i tot pure wine would taste less bitter. how wrong i was! the wines in Australian vineyards are soooo yucky! (though they have strong fruity smell) i think i need some time to adjust to the taste of wines. But i think the good thing is that the wines kept me warm. it was so chilly at the vineyards. brrr...(i went back to drink more cups of wines. yuk!)

The guide at Australia's Caversham park was sooo cute and funny!(i think that's the reason my sis felt so shy around him. had to pull her along just to take a pix with him and the wombat. don't get any funny ideas here!) i'm not going to put the pix up here, though.(muahahahaha) anyway, the park is full of enclosures but no shows. really small park...

Day 5: Fremantle Market
went back to fremantle for the weekend market. the ppl there really aren't interested in making money. they refuse to open on weekdays! they juz want to make enough to have 3 meals a day. what the ****
it's really big and there are a lot of aboriginal arts and culture. they seem to famous for aromatic stuffs and tea leaves. i saw a shop displaying 'cakes' but it ended up to be cake-like soaps! they actually handmade this syuffs at home before bringing to the shop. they can even make the cream of a cake look so fluffy and real! but one slice of these 'cakes' cost about S$26. can't take pix of the market. copyright issues...
